And WHAT are You Up To?

I am sure alot of you have been wondering where we have been lately, as we have been quiet as church mice these last couple of months.

Well, not that we haven't been busy!! In fact a little too busy to be posting on here. So quick grab your whatever and let's catch up!!

Beginning in April - we are working on a couple of top notch presentations and projects some of which have been completed and some we are still negotiating. :D

First in April Ka Nani EssentialsTM was introduced to a new healthy supplement that has made some drastic improvements not only for me but my little one as well. So well in fact that we became the authorized representative for California. If any of you know what 'Super Foods' are and what they can do for you - like Goji Berries, or Mangosteen, Acai Berries, Brown Seaweed etc. well then I have a treat for you!! When you have a minute head on over to our site or click here to eXplore what a liquid extract supplement can do for you!!

May found me scrambling to update the website as there were some security issues to deal with. But everything is safe and secure now with a new look that compliments my passion (hopefully) as well as streamlining some customer customization options when ordering. When you've got a little time head on over to Ka Nani EssentialsTM and let us know what you think of the new design!

May also found us with the opportunity to take a little time and take an interview from 'Looking Green' Magazine a Environmentally Friendly Magazine that covers stories, tips and other friendly ways to support our environment and other such matters. Look for our interview coming this July!

In June while finishing up the website Ka Nani EssentialsTM was contacted by a member of the Overseas Associate of College Admissions Counseling to provide some of our natural products for a conference that they are holding at Chapman University in July. Naturally we said we would help out and are busy preparing to complete that project. To find out more about this and other projects we will be doing head on over to our site Ka Nani Essentials and click on our 'Project' Button up on the top navigation bar.

And of course through all of this we even had time to whip up some new creations!! So look for that COMING SOON!!

Thank you for taking this time to read our news and I hope to hear from you SOON!

What is Love?

In light of the up-coming Holiday of LOVE.....I thought that this year I would share a short story that I wrote a few years ago - one that reflects my never-ending journey to find True Love - but as this is my journey - this is my understanding & desires of what True Love should look like. ;)

Please DO NOT duplicate, copy or otherwise distribute - if you wish to have a copy - please contact me. Thank you - & Please do enjoy :D - KaNani2008

THE TALE OF TWO HEARTS

An Indian Maiden, about to be married went to the village’s Medicine Woman. She told her of this Warrior, who was in her thoughts and had touched her heart. She told her of her hopes, goals, and wishes, her fears, her dreams. She spoke of her Warrior how he had given his heart, though it had a big, dark hole. She placed a piece of wood into the Medicine Woman's hand, shaped as a heart with a hole in the middle.

The Medicine Woman listened and then spoke. ”You have strong medicine,” she said. She held up the wood as she spoke. “A Warrior’s heart is made of three things. Fierceness of the Mountain Lion, Breath of the Great Spirit, and Strength of the Great Bear. Find the stones that make love last, there you will find how to fill this Warrior’s heart.”

She then held up a band of metal. “What is this?” she asked. The Maiden beamed radiantly, “That is my token of love for my Warrior.” The wise woman said, “Metal grows old, metal grows rusty, metal when heated melts away.”

The maiden grew distressed as the old woman spoke. “How can I keep this from happening?” she questioned the old woman.

The Medicine Woman gathered a few stones together. “These,” she said, “are the stones that love is built upon, Openness, Honesty and Respect.”

She gathered the stones and band of metal, together with the Maiden’s hopes, goals, and wishes, her fears, her dreams, putting them into a special leather pouch.

She pulled the strings to close the pouch, as she spoke. “Each night when your Warrior prepares to sleep, if he will return your token of love to this pouch with your hopes, goals, and wishes, your fears, your dreams. Together with the stones that love is built upon, then the metal won’t grow old, won’t become rusty, won’t melt away.”

A Warrior about to be married went to the village’s Chief. He told him of this Maiden, who was in his thoughts and touched his heart. He told the Chief of his hopes, goals, and wishes, his fears, his dreams.

He spoke of his Maiden how she had given him her heart, though smashed in broken pieces. He placed in the Chief's hand a stone that resembled the shape of a heart, which was broken in little tiny pieces.

The Chief listened and then spoke. “You have strong medicine,” he said. He held up the pieces as he spoke. A maiden’s heart is built with three things. Tears of the Rain, Breath of the Great Spirit, and Strength of the Buffalo. “Find the stones that love is built upon, there you will find how to mend this broken heart.”

He then held up a band of metal. “What is this?” the Chief asked. The Warrior said with chest puffed with pride, “That is my token of love for my Maiden.”

The chief gravely said, “Metal gets old, metal becomes rusty, metal when stressed becomes broken.” The Warrior with a look of concern asked, “How can I keep this from happening?”

The Chief gathered a few stones together, “These,” he said, “are the stones that make love last, Understanding, Patience, and Respect.”

He gathered the stones, band of metal, the Warrior’s hopes, goals and wishes, his fears, his dreams, and put them into a special leather pouch. “Each night before your Maiden sleeps, if she returns your token of love to this pouch with your hopes, goals, and wishes, your fears, your dreams. Together with the stones that make love last, then the metal won’t grow old, the metal won’t become rusty, the metal will never break.”

On the day the Warrior and Maiden were wed, the Maiden presented her pouch to her Warrior as she said, “Before this day I went to the Medicine Woman, I told her my hopes, goals and wishes, my fears, my dreams. The Medicine Woman gave me a warning, and presented me with this special pouch. She said that if each night before you sleep you return my token of love to this pouch, then it never will grow old, never become rusty, never will melt away."

The Maiden then said as she placed her pouch in her Warrior's hand, “I know I can trust you with this precious gift, because friends we were first, and through that friendship my heart you helped to mend. However you choose to wear this gift, whether on your finger or close to your heart. I will understand.”

Her eyes welled with tears as she said, “May all who see my token of love know that as this band of metal has no beginning and no end, my love for you is always beginning and never ending."

The Warrior then told his Maiden of how before this day he too had gone to the Chief of the village. As he presented his pouch he said, “Before this day I went to the Chief, I told him my hopes, goals and wishes, my fears, my dreams. He too gave me a warning and gave me this special pouch.” He said that each night before you sleep if you will return my token of love to this pouch, that the metal will never grow old, never become rusty, never be broken."

The Warrior then said as he placed his pouch in his Maiden's hand, “I know I can trust you with this precious gift, because friends we were first. And through our friendship my heart you helped to mend. However you choose to wear this gift, whether on your finger or close to your heart, I will understand."

"You see, with love sometimes you want the whole world to see, and sometimes you just want to keep it to yourself."

The Warrior’s voice filled with emotion, “May all who see my token of love know, that as this band of metal has no beginning & no end, my love for you will always be beginning and never ending."

The Chief and Medicine Woman came to stand in front of the couple, emptying the contents of each pouch into the couple’s hand.

The Chief began to speak. “You two have strong medicine,” he said, “when two come together and share their hopes, goals and wishes, their fears, their dreams, together they begin to build a love foundation of Openness, Honesty, and Respect. Together as they walk, the love begins to grow, and each must remember to have Patience, Understanding, and continued Respect. When put all together their hearts do mend.”

The Medicine Woman then waved her hand over the contents of the pouches, when she was finished a magical thing had happened. In the couple’s hand was a heart made from the cedar tree with a hole in the center, inside the hole were tiny crystal pieces shaped in a heart.“

Before you were together, two hearts were apart, one with a hole, one in pieces. In sharing your hopes, goals and wishes, your fears, your dreams, two hearts became one, filling the need of the other", she said with a smile.

She pulled from her side a leather pouch, as she put the heart of wood and crystal inside the pouch she gently said. “Each night before you sleep if you put your tokens of love inside with this heart made of love; the metal will never become old, never become rusty, never break, and never melt away.”

HISTORICAL - How you can be too!!

No, the above is not a misspelled word. Today I am going to give you a brief historical view of me (the owner of Ka Nani Essentials) & then I am going to give you an opportunity to be historical as well!!

Did you know that the owner of Ka Nani Essentials was involved in the movie industry for a brief period in the late nineties & early two thousands? Yes it is true. She worked on several big productions & have the paychecks to prove it!!! Productions such as:

1. "Touched By An Angel" - Remember that one? CBS Prime Time I believe.

2. "Cover Me" - FBI agent whose whole family gets involved in fighting crime. Aired on USA.

3. Several big theater movies - "Pool Hall Junkies"..

The list goes on, for a bit. My roles - always a nurse or some medical type person, waitress to name a few. Just have the look for that I guess. Boy did I learn a lot in those days!! It was so fascinating to me & because I was not the pushy "Look at me" Type - I was allowed in places that most people are not. Right on the set w/the crew, actors/actresses! How fun :D

(Don't Worry your chance to be Historical is coming up soon!!)

I also made a lot of friends: Not many autographs - but that's ok - I wasn't there for that. I was there to learn, have fun & meet people. And boy did I!

Which is why I am writing you today......because of time spent in the entertainment world - I met alot of special people, people who had integrity, people who are attempting to make a difference in this field, people who cared, PEOPLE who are still close & dear to my heart!

One such person recently found me on Twitter (See the newest Social Media site does bring results!) :D

Laurence N. Kaldor of Kaliber Films, is an amazing individual who despite huge odds has made a name for himself in the entertainment world. For over 17 years - he has worked in almost every capacity of the industry including as an award-winning producer, actor, writer and editor. Working on projects such as "CSI NY" - (my most favorite show!), "Red Lipstick", & "DayDreamer".

So Mr. Kaldor who has made quite a dent in this crazy sometimes wacky business, but I can attest is one of the most down-to-earth, caring, hugest heart on the planet people I know!! Hasn't let his work go to his head (well too much anyway!!) To read more about him go here:

His latest film "Re-Directing Eddie" is causing quite a stir in the world of giving back and is becoming a household name.

"Redirecting Eddie" is an award winning comedy about love, family, and all that can go wrong for a first time director determined not to "sell out" while fighting to get his movie made. The hilarious cast stars Academy Award nominee Valerie Perrine (Lenny, Superman, Slaughter House Five), Jaid Barrymore, (yeah, Drew's mom), Deirdre Imus (Wife of radio shock-jock Don Imus) and features music by international Pop star Cher, with original music by Dannel Vonn Dillon and Kevin Laurence."

What is absolutely great about this film (This is where you get to be HISTORICAL!!!) is that the proceeds from this movie benefit the Children's Cranial Facial Association (helping kids with Cranial Facial abnormalities) and Stumps R Us (providing amputee support and prosthetics to indigent amputees with those donations ear-marked specifically for amputee children.) "Laurence N. Kaldor, the producer spearheading this charity drive is an amputee and recognizes the significance and importance of every amputee child having a functional prosthetic device."

So my questions to you are these:

1. Do you like Good Entertainment? Entertainment that raises consciousness and communicates uplifting ideals to vast audiences, makes you feel good, movitvates you? If so then you won't regret owning this video visit: http://www.redirectingeddie.com/dvd/

2. Would you like to make a difference in someone's life today - but don't think you have alot to do it with? Then for just a little bit of change you can visit: http://www.redirectingeddie.com/dvd/

I am not making a dime from recommending or promoting "Re-Directing Eddie", I'm just helping a really great friend & simply passing along information, as I know that this might be able to help you establish more faith in the Entertainment Industry - as there are more people out there that are trying to do the right thing than you might realize!!

If you feel the need to help or just want an uplifting story to watch(or know someone who does), please visit http://www.redirectingeddie.com/dvd/

Thank you to all my friends & fans that read this & help or not I know that you will do the right thing by passing this on to someone else who might enjoy it! :D

Sincerely,
Ka Nani Essentials

PS - If you really would like to help & just don't have it right now - Please contact me anyway as I have an EXTRA SPECIAL WAY that you can own this DVD & help out at the same time for a limited time only.
